Position Overview
 
The Associate Director, Business Information Management – Consumer Loyalty position will be responsible for supporting the strategic partnership with the Consumer Loyalty department within US Medical Aesthetics Business Unit. This position will interface and liaise with the commercial organization to understand the business strategy and work closely with other Business Information Managers (BIMs) to assist in building the strategic IT roadmap for various functions within US Medical Aesthetics division. This individual will also assist in helping the BIMs in communicating the IT vision and roadmap to the business, Enterprise Architects and other IT services.
 
Based in Irvine, CA, this position will encompass end-to-end project delivery including Project Management, Change Management and Integration Architecture skills.
 
Main Areas of Responsibilities
 
  • Maintain professional relationships with the US Medical Consumer Loyalty business function.
  • Understand the business needs of these functions and supports them by providing innovative ideas and IT Solutions.
  • Develop, maintain and communicate aligned IT strategy while building the technology roadmap with IT initiatives in support of the business strategy. 
  • Manage / support prioritization of commercial systems portfolio and represents this within the corporate systems portfolio.
  • Interact closely with other IT BIMs to ensure strategy is aligned across the organization.
  • Participate and drive global collaboration across BIMs and appropriate IT Services to enable a global leverage model for business process expertise and technology solutions. 
  • Interact with internal IT Services (Infrastructure, Supply Chain, Enterprise Architecture, etc.) and external suppliers to secure appropriate project resources. 
  • Deliver training and presentations as required. 
  • Maintain pulse on industry technology trends/initiatives in area of responsibility and communicates to appropriate business and IT staff.
  • Manage components of the Commercial IT budget. 
  • Provide details and presentations to support acquisition of required resources. 
  • Work closely with the business to relay solution options and associated cost.
  • Leverage various technical teams, both internal and external vendors to provide Operational support and resolution of issues.
  • Work with other IT business functions, vendors, etc.  to continuously improve the business processes and identify and address root cause for various issues.
  • Provide oversight for critical / strategic objectives to Deliver key projects on IT roadmap to support the Loyalty business. Project roles will include mix of Steering, Operating and hands-on project management roles.
  • Work with other business functions in a matrixed organization to successfully deliver the key projects.
  • Support the loyalty business with change management and adoption of the new initiatives being delivered.
Requirements
The following listed requirements need to be met at a minimum level to be considered for the job:
  • Minimum of 12 years of BRM experience, 8+ years of relevant IT experience, and 5+ years in Commercial IT with Pharmaceutical companies
Preferred Skills/Qualification
  • Strong experience in Loyalty solutions, Marketing solutions is desired.
  • Experience in life science / Direct to Physician / cash business processes strongly preferred.
  • Some project management experience using formal SDLC; project management methodology (PMP preferred), techniques, and tools is required.
  • Consulting experience highly desired.
  • Must be experienced in change management, vendor management, business process modeling and reengineering, and application analysis and design.
  • Track record of strategy development and management of portfolio and technology roadmaps.
  • Experience in high performing matrix environment.
  • Process oriented with strong business understanding. 
  • Highly effective presentation skills enabling the business to clearly understand how technology solutions will deliver benefits.
  • A high degree of tact, diplomacy and discretion in handling priority conflicts and resources constraints.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, oral and written communication, negotiation, facilitation and leadership skills with a commitment to internal/external customer responsiveness.
  • Ability to Travel (typically < 20%)
Education
  • BA/BS degree is required; advanced degree, MBA, is preferred.
